I really need to know how you got from step 3 to 4 :l

Pretty much rendering it with 1 dark and light hue depending on what area I was working on. Like the skin, I used the dark and light blue to build the form. Doing that simplifies it for me and makes it less confusing.

I can't teach you the rendering part, because that comes from a lot of practice, but it basically putting the lights and darks of a form in the right place.
