My first official painting of 2013, and although 2012 is over it still is technically the year of the dragon until February 10, 2013. It works like that right? Of course!

I kind have been obsessing to make a oriental-type dragon for the longest time, with of course my twist to it, and I think I might have come up with something I finally like. I was inspired by all sorts of dragons, like Haku from Spirited away and Yomigami from Okami and created a more mammalian-type dragon rather than reptilian.

Some notable traits is that he is blind, intelligent, wise, spiritual, very old (like 10,000 years and is one of the first to have ever existed), and they call him Lung. He secluded himself thousand of years ago deep in the earth ago to meditate and still sits there today to serve as a teacher to those who are brave and committed enough reach enlightenment. To those who fail, well they either die by the elements or by Lung devouring them. Good stuff.

I am making up an ortho sheet for him, so everyone can see what he actually looks like soon. Anyways, that is it for now! Thank you all for looking and I hope you all enjoy!

I really like the choice you made with making this thin! It makes me imagine what's outside of the canvas.
